Here you have a very simple and attractive example, with almost no words, you know what the movie is about.

Remember, the purpose is to attract your readers to buy and, of course, to read the story.

READING ACTIVITIES-PREP 5

These are the instructions for two more activities about your novel.

POSTER

Create a poster about your novel.

1. The size should be not more than a pasteboard (cartulina).
2. Select all images possible related to the story (from your own creation, from the computer or the internet).
3. Select a slogan. Remember, those are very short and concentrate the story in a few words.
4. Include a website (about the author, story or publisher), so any who is interested in reading your story can visit.
5. Write the title, names of main characters, and author.
6. Make it as much attractive as possible.
8. So, to summarize: it should include a slogan, a website, author, title, main character's names and images. It has to be attractive.

COLLAGE

Create a collage about a character you liked the most.

1. Select a character from your story. A character you like the most, not necessarily the main one, but one you are interested in.
2. The size should be not more than a sheet of paper, any color except dark.
3. Include the title of the novel and the name of the character your collage is about.
3. Write no words.
4. Using images, tell me everything you would like to about him or her.

Primer Tarea

Como primer tarea les solicito busquen información sobre las estrategias de lectura. La búsqueda la hacen en español y en inglés.
Impriman, a modo de lista, la versión en inglés, incluyendo nombre y grupo, de las estrategias de lectura que encuentren .

Primera Sesión de Trabajo

Bienvenidos a la primera encomienda:

Lo primero que quiero que hagan es ir a Sanborns (sus librerías tienen una sección de los Top Ten Bestsellers), Gandhi o al Fondo de Cultura Económica, las dos últimas están en la avenida Miguel Ángel de Quevedo. Una vez ahí,

• Escojan una novela que les guste mucho. (El tema es libre, pero no tanto: ni carritos chocones, ni tejido, ni recetas de cocina.)
  
• La novela debe de ser, de preferencia, del año 2000 a la fecha.
• No escojan novelas que indiquen, en el reverso, para qué nivel están diseñadas, pues quiero que se enfrenten a material auténtico. Escojan una novela que cualquier nativo de la lengua inglesa escogería; del mismo modo que ustedes leen a García Márquez o a Paz.
• No teman por lo extensa que las novelas resultan, tendremos en clases una serie de actividades, las cuales les facilitarán su trabajo de lectura en casa.

La razón por la cual les pido cuiden el año de su novela es la siguiente:
La lengua inglesa es hablada en muchos países del mundo como primera lengua, en otros tantos como lengua oficial, y en muchos otros como segunda lengua. A eso agreguen que el Internet lo utiliza, también, masivamente. Como resultado a este uso masivo tiene una lengua que cambia con mucha rapidez, por lo que unas palabras entran en desuso y otras se incorporan.
El objetivo de la materia de inglés VI es prepararlos para que sean capaces de leer en inglés, por lo que será conveniente trabajar con material actual.








Nota: Por favor, no escojan el libro titulado Padre Rico, Padre Pobre, pues ésta no tiene estructura de novela. Tampoco compren a Shakespeare, por las razones que ya les mencioné.

Bienvenidos

Estimados alumnos, la intención de este blog es mantenernos en contacto a lo largo de nuestro curso de Inglés VI.

Leer es lo más interesante que nos puede pasar en la vida, claro, sin dejar fuera el amor, el café y el chocolate, ¿verdad?

Tener acceso al conocimiento, en el momento que queramos y cuantas veces queramos, nos hace libres.

Así que, sin más preámbulos, le doy la bienvenida a este intercambio de impresiones de las lecturas que más (o menos) disfruten, así como a los ejercicios planeados para las mismas.
